Operating procedures

Common faults and solutions

Infusion pump common alarm display:

1. Bubble alarm

Cause of failure: There are air bubbles in the pipeline, and the liquid in the solution bottle or bag is empty.

Treatment method: Open the warehouse door and take out the pump tube, discharge air bubbles, and replace with a new infusion bottle.

2. Battery low voltage alarm

Cause of failure: The battery/battery power is insufficient, and the battery charging is invalid.

Solution: Connect to the AC power supply and replace the battery of the same type.

3. Drop alarm

Causes of failure: The liquid in the infusion bottle or bag is empty, the flow rate regulator is not opened, the small cap is not opened when exhausting, the sensor is placed incorrectly, the sensor is damaged, the drip pot is unstable, there is swing, the drip pot has water mist, and the drip pot liquid level too high.

Treatment method: replace the new infusion, open the flow regulator, open the exhaust cap, place it correctly, clamp the sensor to the drip pot, replace the sensor, fix the infusion pot, keep it stable, shake the drip pot, remove the water mist, and the liquid level in the drip pot Do not exceed 1/2 of the height of the dripping pot, place the infusion bottle upright, and then squeeze part of the liquid back into the bottle to lower the liquid level; keep the opening rate.

4. Pressure, blocking alarm

Cause of failure: The flow rate regulator (screw clamp) is not loosened, the infusion tube is broken or compressed; blood clots obstruct the venous access, and the proximal blood vessel pressure is too large.

Treatment method: Loosen the flow rate regulator (screw clamp), release the discount or pressure of the infusion tube, remove blood clots, loosen the tourniquet, wear clothes with wide cuffs, and avoid measuring blood pressure on the side of the infusion limb.

Analysis of common problems

1. Infusion volume input error

In the process of clinical use, the infusion pump is prone to the problem that the set input volume does not match the actual input volume.

Influencing factors :

#Some nurses did not take out the medicines left in the last infusion process when using the infusion pump, which resulted in the accumulation of too much liquid medicine, which would cause the infusion pump to alarm.

2. The infusion pipeline is blocked

The blood of some patients is in a hypercoagulable state, which will cause the infusion pump to pump the drug slowly, or even block the infusion pump when the needle tip blood coagulates. In clinical application, the blockage of the infusion pump pipeline should be avoided.

3. Noise

The sound of the infusion pump alarm is sharp and ear-piercing, which will disturb the patient's rest. Even when the infusion pump is abnormal, the irregular alarm will be issued, which will greatly affect the patient's rest and even disturb the order of the hospital.
